CLASSIC BOARD SPECIFICATIONS (Buttboard)

 

The BASIC PREMISE is that any rider should be able to put together a competitive board from skateboard shop supplies for under or around $200 complete. A rider may spend more on a board if they wish, however, advancements which require a higher investment to be competitive, will be banned.

 

1.1: DECK: Must be made of wood. The deck may have molded features such as a kicktail, but must be one piece. No dropped boards. It may be any shape within the size limits. Nothing may be added to the deck except for the following:

   1. Foam padding to the maximum of 1".

   2. Non aerodynamic stiffeners to the bottom.

   3. Skateboard-type grip rails underneath.

 

1.2: WEIGHT: The complete board must not exceed 15lbs.

 

1.3: LENGTH: One hundred twenty-five centimeters (125cm / 48") maximum.

 

1.4: WIDTH: Three hundred five millimeters (305mm / 12") maximum.

 

1.5: TRUCKS: The trucks must be lean steer activated. They must be commercially available* skateboard trucks. Trucks may have a rolling axle. (Z-Rollers, Randal's, THX) They must not exceed three hundred five millimeters (305mm / 12") wide, as measured from the outside edge of the axles. The board must use exactly two (2) trucks.

 

1.6: TRUCK MOUNTING: Trucks must be mounted using 4 bolts and nuts. Base plates that drop through the deck or routered out deck bottoms are legal.

 

1.7: BEARINGS: All skateboard bearings are allowed.

 

1.8: WHEELS: 70mm skateboard wheels only. They must be commercially available*. The board must use exactly four (4) wheels.

 

1.9: Ride Height: Final board ride height when measuring from center of board when sitting on flat surface must be a minimum of 80mm to underside of board.

 

1.10: Number Plates: Number plates are not required.
