Race #5 went off without a hitch. Yet another beautiful weather day graced us. We had a new racer come up from RI to join in on the fun. Chris Silva was on the fast track to learning the course and proved it giving Derek and Kenz a worthy opponent in the Am class. The racing was tight as always. In the Luge Pro division Sean, Kyle, Jared and Derek had more close racing swapping leads and drafting to the end before deciding a winner. In 1 heat Jared came out of turn 3 and drifted to the outside clipping the last hay bale. That caused him to go off road. After a quick look at his hand for injuries he got on his board to finish the race. In the next heat Jared lead into turn 3 and held on to win the heat. Way to go Jared. We had a new corner worker come out to help. During the lunch break he offered to let Derek borrow his bike for the GB race. In his first ever GB race Derek rode very well. We hope to see him and possibly a few new GB in the weeks to come. We had a little time to play at the end of the day so Neil set up teams and we ran a relay race. The teams were Sean and Ashleigh, Kyle and Mackenzie, Jared and Derek. The top leg riders (Ashleigh, Kyle and Jared) came into turn 2 a little hot and were not able to stop where they were supposed to relay to their team members. In the end Ashleigh was able to stop where she was supposed to allowing Sean a perfect tag before cruising off to victory. Derek and Kenz jumped on their boards and couldn't catch the leader.  I believe it was Derek then Kenz as they crossed the line. 

In the interest of saving a little money on trophies and trying to come up with new prize ideas, GSI has began giving out Gravity Bucks. Every rider who competes in that days events gets $5.00 which can be used towards any GSI fee or Lugestore purchase.
